This workshop introduces participants to the basics of using the joiner, planer, and router. Participants will learn how to safely and effectively turn uneven, rough-sawn boards into flat, square, and consistently sized stock ready for woodworking projects.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a functional bowl cozy while learning why quilting is necessary to stabilize batting and keep layers secure. Strengthen your seam accuracy, fabric control, and confidence using the Brother sewing machines in the MadJax Design Lab. All materials provided.
WOODSHOP SAW SKILLS & SAFETY MEMBER TRAINING
Build foundational woodshop cutting skills while learning safe, confident operation of the band saw, miter saw, and table saw. We’ll cover tool features and limitations, setup, safe body positioning, basic cutting techniques, and shop safety practices.

In this Household Heroes workshop, you’ll learn how to confidently repair common wall damage and properly hang items of different weights. We’ll cover patching nail and anchor holes, choosing the right anchors, finding studs, understanding weight ratings, and mounting items securely and cleanly.

DRAWING WITH GLASS INK
Paint on glass using a dipping pen and a custom, ink-like paint made from ground glass and pigments. Trace a black-and-white line drawing onto clear glass, then have your piece kiln-fired to make it permanent. Finished work will be ready for pickup after firing.
