CONSERVATION CRAFT: HONEYSUCKLE JEWELRY

Learn about invasive species while turning an environmental challenge into something creative! This hands-on workshop begins with an introduction to invasive bush honeysuckle and its impact on native ecosystems. Participants will then learn basic jewelry-making techniques as they create their own earrings and necklace using natural materials.

Participants will leave with handmade jewelry, new creative skills, and a better understanding of how invasive species affect our local environment.

Ages: 13+ Cost: $15 per person


Meet your instructor: CLAIR BURT, DELAWARE COUNTY INVASIVE PLANT PARTNERSHIP

Clair Burt works as the District Director for Delaware County Soil & Water Conservation District and is a leader with the Delaware County Invasive Plant Partnership (DIPP). DIPP’s mission is to spread awareness and educate the Delaware County community about invasive plant species through ongoing outreach and action, working with local partners to identify and address invasive species threats.

Clair also serves on the board of Muncie Delaware Clean & Beautiful. She is a Delaware County native and graduate of Ball State University. Past work-experience includes vegetable production, landscaping, invasive species management, and watershed planning. Clair enjoys being part of creative and collaborative community projects.
