TOOLSONG Gallery: Pressing Matters - A Community Gelli Printing Project

MadJax Maker Force presents Pressing Matters, a new exhibition in TOOLSONG Gallery led by artist Molly Schaller that celebrates creativity, community, and the power of making art together.

Pressing Matters is a vibrant, intergenerational community art exhibition featuring work created by Muncie residents of all ages, from young children to older adults. Through a series of collaborative workshops, participants explored Gelli printing, an accessible, press-free monoprinting technique that encourages experimentation and creative expression.

The resulting exhibition brings together colorful, one-of-a-kind prints that reflect the creativity of our community while highlighting how shared artistic experiences can build connections across generations.

And this exhibition isn't just for looking at art - it's an opportunity to make some, too!

During the opening, visitors are invited to try Gelli printing firsthand and create their own unique prints. Participants can take their creations home or contribute them to the exhibition, becoming part of the collective artwork on display.

Pressing Matters is led by Molly Schaller, an artist and educator with more than 20 years of experience making art accessible through community-based creative experiences. The project is made possible with support from the Vore Arts Fund, MadJax Maker Force, and participating community members.

Time: 5:00–8:00 p.m.
