In this hands-on jewelry workshop, you’ll learn how to transform a pre-made channel ring into a beautifully finished, stone-set piece. Guided by an experienced instructor, participants will practice the essential skills of preparing the ring, selecting and fitting stones, and using proper tools to set them securely and evenly within the channel.
You’ll also learn finishing techniques such as refining edges, cleaning up tool marks, and polishing the metal to achieve a professional shine. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a completed channel-set stone ring that you’ve personally set and finished. All materials, tools, and individual instruction are provided.
This program is $10 to current Maker Space Members (use coupon: Member2) or $35 for non-members. Space is limited.
Meet your instructor: BRAIDEN ROBINSON
Braiden Robinson is a Muncie native and 2025 Vore Arts Fund grant recipient whose creative energy spans both the lapidary and performance arts. With a deep passion for cutting, shaping, and polishing stone, Braiden brings a meticulous eye and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others explore the craft.
When not in the studio, Braiden can often be found practicing flow arts—or even juggling fire—making his artistic practice as dynamic as it is diverse. You could say Braiden is truly fired up to bring this hands-on channel-set stone workshop to MADJAX and share his love of the lapidary arts with the community.
