Create a one-of-a-kind glass heart pendant in this hands-on glass fusing workshop. Participants will learn the basics of glass fusing while designing a small heart-shaped pendant using pre-cut fusible glass. All tools, materials, and mini kilns are provided on site, and each piece will be fired during class. Students will leave with a finished glass heart pendant ready to wear or gift.
This program is $30 for current Maker Space Members (use coupon: MEMBER2) or $55 for guests. Space is limited.
Meet your instructor: LAURA PEABODY
Laura Peabody has been working with glass for more than 30 years. In her early 20s, she spent time as a diver on a treasure salvage adventure with Caribbean Ventures before settling in North Carolina, where she began designing stained glass panels for friends and learning the craft hands-on. Her journey later took her to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where she built an ideal island life until Hurricane Hugo struck in 1989.
After the storm, Laura was called upon to restore shattered stained glass windows in churches across the island, working with every denomination in a long and meaningful restoration effort. When a friend left the island and gifted her a kiln, Laura was introduced to glass fusing and began teaching herself through experimentation, embracing both successes and failures as part of the learning process. She continues to explore the creative possibilities of kiln-formed glass and is excited to share her passion and experience through glass fusing workshops at MadJax.
