Join us at MadJax for a hands-on glass painting workshop that blends illustration, chemistry, and kiln-fired glass.
In this session, you’ll learn how to paint on glass using a dipping pen and a custom, ink-like paint made from ground glass, pigment powder, and clove and lavender oils. We’ll walk through the process step by step, from mixing your paint to controlling line, flow, and transparency on clear glass. You’ll then trace a black-and-white line drawing onto glass, creating a delicate, illustrative composition.
Once completed, your piece will be fired in a kiln to permanently fuse the glass paint to the surface. Finished works will be ready for pickup after firing.
What to know before you come:
Please bring a black-and-white line drawing sized to 4 × 6 inches so your finished piece can be easily framed.
All other materials and tools are provided.
You’ll be notified when your fired piece is ready for pickup.
This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in drawing, illustration, printmaking-adjacent processes, or exploring glass in a new way - no prior experience required.
This program is $15 for current Maker Space Members (use coupon: MEMBER26) or $35 for guests. Space is limited. Participants aged 12 and up are welcome.
