Meet your instructor: MIKE TEAL
Mike developed an interest in welding through an early passion for cars and learning mechanical work alongside his father. That passion led him into the local body shop industry, where he began his career in auto body and welding. While experienced in both trades, welding quickly became his specialty and favorite craft.
With more than 30 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication, Mike has built custom vehicles, attended car shows across multiple states, and even had a Hot Wheels model produced based on a car he helped build.
He enjoys the creative and practical side of welding — whether joining metal to create functional tools, custom fabrication pieces, or works of art. Guided by a mentor’s advice that “Every day is a school day — go out and learn something,” he continues to challenge himself through new projects, artistic experimentation, and fabrication work.
