Purdue Accelerated Leadership Certificate Now Offered in Muncie

Updated: Apr 5, 2022

Local employees now have a new opportunity to help them land a promotion. Purdue Polytechnic Anderson is now offering the Accelerated Leadership Program in Muncie. The program allows students to earn an accredited, industry-recognized Leadership Certificate in just one year by attending classes one night a week.

Created in response to a need for local workforce training, the Accelerated Leadership Program is well suited for entry-to-mid-career members of the workforce in any industry who aspire to move into a managerial or leadership role. Students will receive professional development training in skills such as conflict management, critical thinking and ethics, and leadership for organizational change and innovation.

The benefits of the Accelerated Leadership program go beyond an industry credential. Leadership Certificate students benefit from small class sizes, networking opportunities, and the chance to learn from local instructors who are seasoned professionals in the community. Students will immediately be able to apply what they learn in class to situations in the workplace and will be better equipped for for advancement opportunities within their workplace. Additionally, courses from the Leadership Certificate will count toward Purdue degree programs if the student does not already have a college degree.

The total cost of the program is $4,190.40 for 18 credit hours plus a $60 application fee. Purdue staff can assist with payment arrangements for local employers who want to sponsor an eligible student as part of an employee tuition assistance program. The first Muncie cohort starts in May, and classes take place on Mondays from 6–8 pm.

Prospective students and interested employers are invited to attend an Open House in the Purdue classroom on the second floor of Madjax on February 22 from 2–6 pm or on March 8 from 2–6 pm. Meet the instructors, talk with enrollment staff, and discover the benefits students derive from becoming a part of the program.
